IROKO Timber This timber forms the highest quality gates Cheshire Gates provide, Iroko hardwood grows in managed forests in West Africa. Its density and natural oils make this wood so durable it is used in the boat building industry. In its natural form the wood will weather similar to teak with a silver sheen. This product is manufactured under strict quality standards, using traditional mortice and tenon construction together with bronze, brass and stainless steel fixings and furniture.

SCANDINAVIAN HARDWOOD. This hardwood is the wood that comes from a broad-leafed tree. Oak, birch and beech are all these type of hardwoods. This is a hardwood of good quality This style of solid gate is made using our mortice and tenoned, peg jointed frame with tongue and groove boarding. in a range of styles.

SOFTWOOD. All our softwood gates come from ecologically managed forests. This is a softwood of excellent quality which offers a high grade finish for entrance applications. It readily accepts all paints, preservatives and stains.
