Softwoods & Pressure
Treated Softwoods
We at Cheshire Gates have recently sourced
a range of more cost effective pressure treated softwoods
coming from Ireland.
Pressure treated wood is a wood that has
undergone a process to make it more durable so that
it is not susceptible to water, rot, termites, or fungus.
Pressure treated wood is used for a variety
of applications ranging from outdoor decking, gates
to utility poles, from railroad ties to playground equipment.
Pressure treated wood conserves and extends a valuable
renewable resource and it is economical.
The range of styles is slightly smaller,
go to Gate Gallery under Pressure Treated Woods for
our examples, this an ideal alternative when looking
for a cost effective pair of gates or side gates.
We also provide our hardwood gate range
in softwood, still manufactured using traditional Mortice
& Tennon jointing processes, these gate do require
more attention during the life cycle of the gates and
we would advise the gates are protected twice a year
with a Sikkens Base Protector. (HLS PLUS & CETOL) |
